Bubba Hogg: Bio

Bubba Hogg

Bubba Hogg"s bio? Kind of misses the point of the web page which is to promote the music and the songs. I'm just a hippie draft dodger. I went to Canada instead of reporting to the induction center. I never
exhaled. I have had a guitar for forty years.
I have produced two cd's and written 50 songs. The band? It is not about the band,
although the band is awesome. I was very
fortunate to get Hershel and Sid to collaberate on the musical end. They were able to feel out the songs and to add to the groove.
This site is all about the King of Babylon
cd. It is about the cover of the cd. The giant buddha statue in Afganistan has such significant present day meaning. When we hit this color scheme and the writing appeared on the wall it was really mind boggling. The cd brings these songs together In it"s own unexpected particular
groove. It is about the songs and the music.
What Bubba really wants is for you to hear the songs. It might even take some time and effort from you to really hear the songs. Now I know time and effort is not what you had in mind for music. Consider that even a flower takes time to grow and their is some
effort on the part of the flower to soak up those rays. There is no way you could listen
to all thirteen songs and not find one that
you liked. That would take a whole hour, way to much time. Ten or fifteen minutes
running through the songs would be an honest listen. An honest listen will never get you to the heart of Bubba. No that would take a complete listen.
Inside Bubba's heart is a lot of love that
I would like for you to know. The message is
that there is no message, only love, love, love. No matter what happens it is all going to work out in the end. There are some folk songs, rock, blues, protest, pyscedelic,
Love, gospel and party songs. Somewhere in there I know your gonna laugh. Somewhere
you are going to believe. Somewhere there is some inspiration maybe even faith. There
is always a party, now let there be love.

Bubba Hogg

I got my first guitar in 1967. I was listening
to the folk scene Bob Dylan and Joan Baez.
I was listening to pop radio and motown. I
fell like so many of my peers to the British invasion. I joined Americas response to this
outrage and mustered all the flower power I could, together with my brethren, the Grateful Dead, the Jefferson Airplane, a little Canned Heat, along with reinforcements from Canada, in the person
of Neil Young we offered an alternative home grown version. I graduated from San Carlos high school in 1970. Down in the heart of the San Francisco peninsula. I went to Canada instead of reporting to the induction center.I received a presidential pardon from Jimmy Carter when he pardoned all draft resisters. I lived
in Canada for 15 years. I went there first to avoid the draft and then I met my wife Jessie and we raised a family, with three children, together. We lived as hippies in the communal back to the land movement,
in the early seventies. Got found in the Christian church where the music was a
little taste of heaven on earth. Moved on in the spirit to accept all religions that believe
in our father God and the brotherhood of all men, where there is neither male nor
female.Did I mention I have a presidential pardon? Did I mention I have a spiritual pardon? Me, the draft dodger who never exhaled. Went back to California where I've been for 20 years. The King of Babylon cd is playing with Hershel and Sid for ten years, hanging out in hershels garage making music, writing songs and having fun, always having some time for praise and worship.
I've always had a guitar, It's a good tool for writing songs. I have written 50 songs, like a song a year. The songs are Bubba's therapy,
some blues, some folk and some rock, a rant or two and of course some Bubbified gospel. You know it's got to be so bubbalicious. I just moved to semi retirement in Hawaii. I,m enjoying the tropical whether and getting new inspiration. I'm trying to catch up to the computer but it just keeps going faster and faster, more info more info
